Virginia Chorale Glorious Baroque
Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Virginia
Chorale with new music director Scott Williamson. As Virginia's
only fully professional choral ensemble, the Virginia Chorale is
proud to present the best in choral performances and education programs
to the Hampton Roads community. On November 25, 1984, a new choral
ensemble called Norfolk Pro Musica presented its performance with
a program featuring Baroque and Early Music. Glorious Baroque is
a tribute to Norfolk Pro Musica and its first ten years of performances
of music by Bach, Byrd, Charpentier, Handel, Morley, and Purcell.
Scott Williamson, conductor. From the opulence of the Italian style in Venice to the zenith of Baroque choral music in J.S. Bach, from South America’s oldest known chorus to the royal anthems of Purcell and Handel, these 400-year-old gems have never sounded more immediate. This is a program to delight the ears and touch the heart. Season Tickets: $112/$95; Student:
